Guitar, Bass & Mandolin
Lloyd English - has been a professional performer, teacher and producer for over 30 years.  He has performed in concert halls and club venues across Canada and his music has been played all over the world.  His teaching appointments have included Eli Kassner Guitar Academy, Toronto, and the Academy of the Arts, Vancouver.  Lloyd's producing credits include his album " Dances of the Veils" and the "Mariah Dantu" album. He is currently working in his own jazz quartet in Vancouver.

Aaron Watson - performs regularly with Victoria's  improvisational Gypsy Jazz duo, Cold Cut Combo and with Franaine Buchal in IMP(s). Aaron studied with Lloyd English and Classical Guitar at Capilano College. Aaron is an accomplished multi - instrumentalist who has performed professionally for 14 years in many genres including Flamenco, Nouveau Flamenco, Jazz, Gypsy Jazz, Country, Folk and Rock . Aaron teaches guitar, chromatic button accordion and musical to students of all ages and levels.

Monté Saatchi - completed a 4th year performance Major at Capilano College and has performed Classical, Spanish and South American repertoire for   8 years with highlight performances on CBC Radio and Government House, Victoria.  Currently studying under the faculty of The Conservatory of Victoria, Monté was honoured with an "Award of Distinction". Monté teaches students of all ages and levels.

Melody Benbow - performs regularly with local West Coast Celtic group, Kitangus. Melody studied classical piano and sang in choirs at an early age.  She went on to study guitar for Popular, Folk and Celtic music.   Melody is an accomplished singer, rhythm guitarist and Bodhran player. Melody teaches beginner guitar and performance for students of all ages.
Mike Lefebvre -  was educated at the Berklee College of Music in Boston and Grant McEwan's College of Music in Edmonton.  For 25 years, Mike has performed various styles of music including Latin, Jazz, Pop, Blues, R&B and classical.  Mike performs regularly with his band Los Peros Libres and teaches students of all ages and levels.
Franaine Buchal - (guitar, bass, mandolin, flute, ukulele) Franaine has a B.Mus from Western Ontario and B.Ed. From Lakehead University.  He taught kindergarten, grades 6 & 7 in the public education system as well as private music lessons for 7 years.  Franaine is an accomplished multi - instrumentalist who has been performing professionally in Rock, Folk, Jazz, Latin and Classical for the last 17 years. Frananine teaches students of all ages and levels.

Darcy Green (piano, guitar) studied music in London England, where he received a Teacher's Diploma for piano from the Associated Board of Music, as well as RGT Diploma from the London  College of Music for guitar.  Darcy performs regularly with various local bands in many different genres. Darcy enjoys teaching Blues, Jazz, Rock and Classical  piano to students of all ages and levels.

 

Piano

Diana English - started playing piano and singing at the age of four.  She received many awards and scholarships from festivals and competitions in Vancouver, as well as honours for Royal Conservatory exams.  Diana is an accomplished accompanist and has been church organist and choir director.  Diana has had years of experience in preparing students for Royal Conservatory Exams as well as teaching general musicianship and keyboard skills.

Jing Jing Wang started playing piano when she was 6 years old and is  now a recent graduated from U - Vic with a major in Piano Performance. Jing Jing  has a diploma in Piano Performance and Teacher Training from The Victoria Conservatory of Music and she performed in many concerts and recitals during her studies. Jing Jing teaches Classical piano music in both English and Mandarin to students of all ages and levels.

Drums & Percussion

Jason Bonneau started playing drums, percussion and piano at age 11.  He toured and played with progressive Jazz/Rock bands for 17 years. Jason has recorded 8 albums and he is  currently producing a  new album with a general emphasis on original modern compositions. Jason teaches students of all ages and levels. 
 

Violin & Fiddle

  Fallon Lindsay has been playing violin for 14 years. She plays and teaches classical violin and fiddle.  Fallon has studied with Daniel Lapp, Kendall and Tyler Carson and Ivonne Hernandez. Along with teaching, Fallon performs locally and with the Victoria Symphony.

Brass & Woodwinds

Karla Sleightholme is in her third year of the Bachelor of Music degree program as a sax major at UVic and intends on completing her Maters.  Playing lead alto sax in the U-Vic Jazz Orchestra Karla also plays in a number of ensembles. Her regular gigs include; the Empress, Vancouver Art Gallery, North view golf course, Herman's Jazz Club and the University Club and subs in the Monday night Big band on sax and flute.  Karla has taught sax for the Vancouver Kiwanis Jazz Fest, St. Patrick's Elementary School, and other middle schools in the Comox area. Karla teaches alto, tenor, soprano and bari sax as well as flute and clarinet.

Voice & Performance

Rachelle Gislason (Piano/Voice) - Rachelle has been performing as a jazz pianist/singer since 2001, including opening for Nellie Furtado, and various festivals and concerts.  She has studied with Al Mckenzie and Christopher Donison.  Rachelle teaches classical & jazz improvisation, pop and jazz vocal coaching, as well as Irish penny whistle, and songwriting.
